Me time

I will not go out tomorrow.


Tomorrow will be dedicated to myself.. me time!

Here's the short list of things I hope to accomplish tomorrow.

1. Go for a run (like finally!)
2. Read a chapter or two from the book of Power. I like that book but I can't read too many chapters at one go.
3. Paint my nails.

Ok that's that. Simple enough right?? (:

Just hope no one tempts me into going out tmr heh heh...

JB Weekend (:

I'm blogging from Nyein's place in JB now.. It's technically her in-laws' place but for convenience's sake I may address them in this post without the "-in-law". (:

I had such an awesome time today. I totally expected to spend these 2 days rotting away at her place coz her hubby wouldn't be around this weekend to drive us around. I was really ok with that. (: I needed to getaway from SG for awhile and i wanted to see her baby!

I've only seen him a couple of times since he was born 2 years ago. At the hospital, he was sucha a wee itty bitty thing. Nyein asked me to carry him but I was SO afraid I would drop him or something dire would happen. =X I did play a little with him tho and his tiny little hand grabbed one of my fingers hahah. then I think i probably saw him two times when he was still a few months old. He couldn't walk, couldn't do anything for himself.. And he wasn't at that stage where we could successfully interact with one another. I was a at total loss at how to interact with him. This one time, Nyein just placed him on my lap and I didn't even dare breathe to hard for fear of jostling him and making him cry. The last time I saw him again was last year when he was 1 year plus. Nyein brought him to Queens to play at the swimming pool. He was progressing from that ugly baby stage (sorry nyein!) to that cute little boy stage.. And he was so scared of me. -heartbreak-

Now he's a vivacious little boy who is naturally curious about everything and so he's not too afraid of me. On top of that, he understands simple words and gestures and it was really a total pleasure to finally 'meet' this little boy. (:

Anyway, I was talking about my day here.

After driving in from Msia last night, I got treated to a BIG TUB of durian hahah. I WAS SUPER HAPPY!! heehee.. her FIL works as a sinseh and the durain was kind of a form of payment to him.. But since he and ah-ma are diabetics, Nyein's SIL and BIL kept telling me to finish up the durain, don't leave any for them to eat.. So naturally, I obliged. ;)

Before going to sleep, Nyein and I were looking at some old pictures from back in JC. Remisicing about the school, and the things we used to do. When she left for Myanmar after JC, Fahreen and I had a like a farewell celebration for her and sent her off with a card and balloon haha.

This morning I got awoken by baby zhaoxiong and Nyein's MIL. there's this like old-school bed-like thing for babies, the ones with the spring and bounces up and down to lull them to sleep, in Nyein's room. So her MIL brought the baby in to rock him to sleep. I couldn't really fall asleep after that.. that was around 9.30am this morning. It's probably the earliest I've ever woken up voluntarily on a Saturday after I started work.

There was some yummy rice for breakfast already cooked by her MIL, who came down shortly with zx. I guess it was too early for zx's nap. =P

Initially he was super shy, didn't really wanna look at me in the eye, but after awhile he got really curious lol. He was drinking some water with a spoon and was like trying to feed water to Nyein. And then Nyein told him to feed me, which he did and I thought that was really really sweet hahah. (he's so totally at the cute little boy stage now.. =D)

So all morning and afternoon, I spend most of my time playing with him, following him around the house and taking pictures of him.. He's really too cute. He was mesmerised by my bling bling earring, and even called it a crystal. After that I took it out to show him, and he tried to put it back on for me.. So Awww right?!! He eventually succeeded, smart boy. ;)

That wasn't the only highlight of my day. We went to one shopping mall - Sutera Mall, and Nyein and I walked with him around the shops while her relatives went grocery shopping. As usual, the things he did were super cute. He let me carry him around and kept holding my hand every time i opened my hand in front of him.. SO CUTE RIGHT?!? ahhh i like kids at this age.

I totally digressed just talking about baby zx this whole post hahah. But I will miss this kiddo after leaving tmr. He's just too cute. ;)

I got to see a pasar malam that totally doesn't look like any pasar malam in Singapore. Her FIL said that it's like the pasar malam of the 1960s. Super old school, not so clean or hygenic, but also very very cheap! (: Too bad I was super full or I would have tried some of the food.. the smell was mouth watering!

They also brought me to this market that's like indoor with no aircon kind.. called bestmart. I really wanted to look around, but I was actually quite tired by then. They brought me there to buy this Fuyong Bao. It's like those fried patries thing with the charsiew filling in them. SO.GOOD. omg i really regret not buying more..

We came home to awesome dinner cooked by her SIL, and I am a very happy person today yay.

Super tired, but we still have things planned for the night yay. 1) watch movie. 2) eat durian. 3) put on facial masks!

Totally enjoyed myself today. (: Gonna fall asleep with a stupid smile on my face.

Hahah all the blogshops have been having sales lately and I have been buying buying buying! =X

Chinese Society Dinner

I was dragged to attend this event by my mum some time back. Her organisation CWA had a table and some of her friends could not make it so she pulled me in to fill up the empty seat.

The event was supposed to start at 7.. And she made me wait for her in office until 8! The best part was that I had cleared ALL my work already which is normally quite rare coz the work is usually never-ending and I spent like one hour randomly surfing the net in office.

The hardest part has yet to come. They survived the disaster, but how about what happens after? There's shortage of basic necessities like food, water and electricity.. There's grief. 

There's gotta be more that I can do than just giving money... =(

Dinner with the lovely Nyein

I met up with Nyein for dinner at vivo last Monday. We both needed to get shoes and I wanted to go DMK to see-see (:

We had a simple dinner at Bakerzin. I've never eaten there before and I wanted to try it. Plus it seemed obscure enough that we wouldn't have to queue really long for it and hopefully really quiet. (:

After food it was a lot a lot a lot of shopping. heehee.. I haven't shopped like that in ages. LIke.. properly going into a store, trying things, and actually buying things! ALMOST Everything that I have bought in the past year are from blogshops! hahah.. Nyein enjoyed herself. She kept saying how nice it was to shop with me, like always can find nice things. (: (: (:

And since she stays like 200m away from me, we both took the bus home together.

HELLO FROM MY NEW COMPUTER!!!

I have installed super a lot of programs on my computer hahahahah but it's still super fast yay!! (: I had a 8GB upgrade of ram hahahah seriously dunno why I need so much. 

Now I'm massively updating my song collection heehee. So happy I finally can do things on my own lappie. not to worry about it being someone else's and like don't dare dl this or that. Now my 'work' can be so much more efficient yay!! 

And while I've been progressing so quickly on getting my computer up to speed.. My iphone has yet to be synced. I'm sucha noob i don't know how! -.-

Random musings on the bus

Quite an amount of thinking I'm doing today hahah. all quite random.

Is (my) beauty only skin deep? Sometimes it really bothers me. =/ it's like my source of insecurity and confidence. I'm always confused as to why others will be my friend.
I like to think it's my personality but then again it's also my personality that drives others away. I guess you can't please everyone.

I hate hate hate reading about disasters. They make me super emo. Ppl receive no news from friends and families.. Their homes forever destroyed. The fear that their refuge would not be enough.. The thought of never being able to say goodbye.. The fragility of life. It's so depressing. And like life goes on for everyone else but what about those affected? :( how do I go about my own life u affected knowing that others are hurting?

Lastly, I've been thinking of my sister halfway across the world in Belgium. The baby of the family decided to go on exchange alone. In the sense that she applied on her own, without making plans with others to go together. I think that's really brave of her.. I probably would not have dared go on exchange alone. But she made friends and made plans, and it's just a pretty good feeling to see her finally standing on her own two feet.. I mean this in a good way of course. (: when she chatted with me the other day I could tell things were a little rough and she probably missed home and her 'carefree' life back here. But she was still making the most of her time there and she kept planning ahead.. And this just made me really proud of her. (: Mei i know you will read this sometime. Just keep looking forward ya? You're often in my thoughts. So please send me a postcard thankiew berri much (:
