Short Update!

There's so much that's been happening. So little time to upload and blog about each of the individual events..

It's day 7 of 2011 already. One week of 2011 has officially gone by.
I actually have many cross updates to blog about, but I will do that in another entry.

Okayyy first things first..

MY TDC PRINTS CONVERTIBLE DRESS ARRIVED TODAY!!!!
Photobucket
damn nice right??? :DDD
 I love its versatility.

I watched "The Tourist" today. and [no spoilers] OMG it's awesome!! I don't understand why people don't like it.. I totally enjoyed it and was totally absorbed in the plot. Not to mention the eye candies Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. They're both so hots yums! ahahah it's just nice to look at beautiful people!

ok random but I was late for the movie [again] but this time it was totally not my fault! I wanted to buy the Taiwan Shilin Snacks Crispy Chicken.. I had reached 313 at 7.10pm, a sufficient 20mins before the start of the movie. wtfff they took so long to make my chicken I only left 313 at 7.30pm!

I met up with the 22nd at a Chalet on the 4th. Our dear boss Jonloh booked the chalet for all of us to gather. I thought it was really nice of him - he forked out the money and didn't ask anybody to pay him back, I paid him $20 lol so cheapskate right??? [i think so too =X] I was there for 4 hours maxxxx but I really enjoyed catching up with those who were there. Kenneth, Hsein, Viv, Sher, Daryk, Euge and Jon were among those of the original 22nd were there. I had to repeat the same story about what I was doing/have been doing to each and every one of them separately. -.-'''

Owell I was super glad I got to see them. :DDD I haven't seen them since godknowswhen.

Sad that I missed Weixin by a few mins, Claire and Rinus were stuck at home and Indo respectively. Would have been nice to see them too. Maybe next time there will be a gathering.. Hopefully.. ;)

The Design Closets II

I bought another dress from TDC. (yes I've been shopping again).

It cost me $29.50.. It's a bit more than what I would usually pay for dresses but I think it's money well spent! ;) It's a convertible dress (i have one in maroon already), and they are so fun to play around and style differently depending on the occasion!

Here's the one I bought!! :D

They came in two other colours - blue and multicolour, which tricia and jie preferred in that order respectively.
ahahah we 3 have such different tastes.

OPI and Katy Perry

OMG I LOVE THIS NAIL POLISH!!!
Photobucket

It's part of a collaboration between OPI and Katy Perry.
This particular design is called "Black Shatter", is painted on as a top coat to create that effect of broken pieces of black.

Here's the other designs in this particular collection.

Ok Seriously....

The "Black Shatter" is mad love. I can't wait to get my hands on it!!! ;)

Goodbye 2010

My first post of 2011 and it's already the 2nd of January.

ohmygosh january??

SERIOUSLLYYY??

It seems so mehhh that January comes after December. That's like having Monday come after Saturday. yess Saturday not Sunday. Sunday is like get back to reality day - you've played enough on Saturday, the actual play day.

Here's what 2010 has meant to me.

1. Becoming more connected
I used to blog frequently back in 2004-5 in my jc days as it was hip to do so then, until I blogged some nasty stuff about my mum.. The ensuring fiasco lasted a full two weeks, where she made my life a living hell, calling me every day to say what an ungrateful daughter I was.. How I totally misunderstood her actions I should never have said what I said to broadcast to the whole world.. (You get my drift). After that, I blogged intermittently.. But it was hard to get back the initial motivation to blog. I felt like it was necessary to screen things I wrote. It was uncomfortable for me to talk about anything at all. Plus, I would say that I was still a very angsty person before. So nothing good ever came out in my blog.
In this past year, I think I have mellowed. I have learnt to kan de kai and to not let the little things bother me. I started blogging in March, to help me in a school project. But the more I blogged, the greater the variety of things I put in my blog.. and my blog became more 'fun' and 'happy' and I liked it that way. :D
Soon after the Twitter and tumblr fever caught on and I created accounts there too. And since I was jobless for a good 6 months, I actively updated.. At the same time, I constantly 'upgraded' myself to learn more about personalizing my different accounts and learnt a lot about html coding to create layouts customized to my liking. :D
I feel accomplished in the sense that I learnt a lot about all these things IT(sort of :P) related and people actually come to me and ask me how to do this how to do that and it has given me an awesome sense of accomplishment. And I enjoy putting my life out there for the whole world to see. I mean it's not as if the whole world is interested, but it keeps my friends and family updated on what's going on in my life and vice versa and I think that is important. ;)
2. Satisfying my Wanderlust
I got to travel to 3 different countries this year!!! India, Nepal, China.. (and Malaysia but that doesn't really count)
Grad Trip - 16 days to India and Nepal where I traveled to Delhi, Jaipur and Agra in India and I got to ride elephants up to the Amber Fort, and see the famous Taj Mahal in Agra. India was super duper hot, dirty and scary. I don't think I would go there again ahahah but it was a good experience. (: In Nepal we flew into Kathmandu, and then travelled to Chitwan where we got to sit on elephants (again) and trudge through the Chitwan National Park which was surprisingly not that commercialized, and Pokhara where we started our trek up into the Nepalese mountains to breathtaking views and snow capped mountains. And lastly somewhere in between these cities we managed to squeeze in White Water rafting which was a pretty novel experience and I had loads of fun! :D
China - A super last min trip with the main purpose of seeing the Shanghai expo, which became a 14 day trip to China, where we visited Chengdu (caisang's hometown), Jiuzhaigou, Shanghai and Hangzhou. Caisang was a great host, coming up with activites for us, bringing us to all the sights in Chengdu and letting us stay at her place. And to top it off, she organised the whole JZG trip for us which was an unbeliveably awesome/beautiful/breathtaking/simply awesome beyond awesomely amazing place. lol. It was so nice that words fail me at describing how magnificent the place truly is. Shanghai was an eye-opening experience and I did a lot of shopping there! :P hangzhou was a flop due to the weather but oh nevermind. Overall great trip (notwithstanding the horrible behaviour of the locals)!
3. Discovering another family
No prizes for guessing. Who would have thought I would be so ingratiated into the Cross team just one year ago???
I hate running. I truly do. And yet somehow, this bunch of people have encouraged me, and motivated me to train hard for something bigger and better despite my distaste for the sport. No i wouldn't say it was brainwashing. It's just being in their company makes me wanna push myself harder, the way you push yourself when your family supports and encourages you. You just wanna make them proud. Not only that, despite your faults, only your family would truly accept you for you are and see beyond those faults to see your merits. (: No one in the team is perfect, but the indiscriminating nature of the team is what truly makes everyone feel at home. (:
They have made such an impact in my life, I don't even know where to begin to say about the kind of support they have showed me which has transcended most of what I have experienced in the 3 years preceding my entry into the cross team.
I will always love these bunch of people who I have shared experiences with and am thankful for their presence in my life. They make me a better person.. pushing myself to be better.. and to see past others' faults for their sterling qualities.

Goodbye 2010. You were an awesome year.

2011 will be another year of new experiences (hopefully). I will finally start work, earn money.. and.... hmm.. we'll see what happens next! ;)

Shop-Shop-Shopaholic!!

This is bad. Everytime I go out, I buy something.

And to think I was so proud of myself for not buying anything today. At 10.30pm I walked into Diva and bought 2 rings. -.-''

But aren't they pretty???

And that's not all! When I got home, I blogshopped and bought these two dresses from one of my favourite blogshops Intoxiquette. I love their workwear.. ^_^

And to top off my shopping spree for today.. I went and bought an organiser for $18 from Aruoie. They ship in super cute stationery from Korea. Tricia bought one too! Mine's the orange one.

And I'm only halfway done...

This doesn't include my shopping from earlier this week from Bobodino. Same concept as Aruoie but they have a wider variety of products which not only include organisers but stickers, stamps and cards..

I bought many many many stickers..
PhotobucketPhotobucket
They are good for decorating simple cards and messages..

And then there's this jacket from Pearlavish.

And yet another jacket (blazer) from Mango.

ZOMG HOW COME SO MANY THINGS?!?!

ACK! I SHALL NOT SPEND ANYMORE.
