I am like such an old fogey - graduated last year - but still come down for cross camp. -.-"
Actually at first I was like ai mai ai mai.. Didn't really know if I wanted to go or not. I mean, one on hand, I felt old.. and totally not rah-rah. But at the same time, I knew it would be fun to just go down and catch up with friends. (:
In the end, I went as a replacement OGL for Eric coz he had alot of online lectures to complete and he wouldn't have the time to devote his OG.
It was a good move. (:
I enjoyed myself, and watching all these freshies and feeling their excitement for the camp and their anticipation for the many things to come over the course of their uni life. Of course I tried not to be too preachy laah. Graduated senior.. Confirm got alot of words of advice blah blah blah..
I had a good bunch of freshies.. All very friendly and caring. Yes.. caring. A typical cross country trait. I am really excited to see how they mingle with the rest of the team in the coming months (and possibly years :D).
Some pictures here and there from the camp..
Eric w Joseph & Terence..
Azrul and our two ladies Joann & Ka Woon
Me with Benedict & Kundan. (ben always bully me and make fun of my age. :P)
Not many pictures from the night..
We had supper, showered, and htht-ed for about 30mins or so. (: I was very pleasantly surprised to see them huddled together and still talking when I got back from the shower wayyy after lights out. =X
The next morning.. We had morning run. -horrors of horrors- I thought I would die and the sun would make me black. Thankfully I survived without any mishap or embarrassing incidents. :P
Here's my og in the morning at Hort Park. (:
Cross Camp photo! here's everyone! (minus game masters)
We left Hort Park soon after and on to our first destination. Our clues were pictures of the destinations and since we had many experienced runners, the locations were relatively easy to guess. First up was Turf City.
It was sucha headache getting there, taking 2 buses and then walking in the hot sun.. I could barely function..
We finally found Jackie far far far away from the grandstand (where he was supposed to be).. but near the end point of the race route. -shudder- I have bad memories there.
here's a pic of my og. I think they did very well at this station! (: (: (:
The sun was BLAZING HOT, but they made quick work of this station. All working together. (:
And then it was on to West Coast Park.. It was a long journey out of Turf City.. :( We waited half an hour for the free shuttle to Clementi, then another 20 agonizing minutes on the bus. So many of them KO-ed on the bus. =/
Upon reaching WCP, we were greeted by the cheerful group of seniors.
"Welcome to the 2nd stage of the Triwizard Tournament!" quips Emain. lol. (:
My freshies.. (:
Sarah & Azrul giving it a go.. (madan being a bully, caisang throwing sand. =P)
At the end of the course, they had to give a little performance. heehee (:
It is a little painful to watch.. ;)
After that, we sat down and Macs for lunch. We had been craving Macs all morning, so we were so happy to finally sit down at macs and chow down some fries (and mcwings for me)
5mins later it starts pouring and we're stranded at WCP. And the sucky thing was we needed to go to Botanic Gardens which was back on the same road we came from -.-"
We eventually made it there like 2hours later. We were super late.
The game there was like some kind of spider net thingy.. Here's my og going thru the course..
And then Eric decided to give us a demonstration on how easy it was.
Bad choice for him..
Bad choice for him..
This was the exact moment his pants split!
LOLLLLLL
HUFFLEPUFF~!!
Our station masters having a little fun. ;)
And soon it was time to go back to school.
We didn't get to complete the last 2 stations which were at Bedok and MacR. SO FARRR.
