Marina Bay Sands (part 1)

I had an awesome 2 days at Marina Bay Sands with some of the team.. all thanks to Richard! (: He was able to get one of the rooms at a cheaper rate, and he booked it for all of us to stay and enjoy! (mostly because it was recess week, it provided everyone with a much-needed break)

Getting to Marina Bay Sands just before F1 weekend was crazy. Gc and I met up at Queenstown and had intended to take 111, then 106 to Bayfront Boulevard - the road right in front of MBS. We should have just gotten off in town instead of waiting till the very last stop at Suntec to get off coz the roads in that area were closed and we ended up in Bugis. -.-''

After many detours (and lunch :P) we finally made it to MBS via the Helix Bridge. It was actually kinda cool seeing the road so empty in broad daylight and people just walking around like they own the road. I wanted to take pictures lol but it was really hot, and we were extremely late in meeting the others. =/

We finally arrived at 4pm, Richard had only just arrived and checked in with Madan and Eric (who both reached around 2 plus =X).. And they were all ready to go swimming.

Unfortunately, it was raining and the pool was closed.. >.<

see the strong winds!

And so we took the lift down and waited in our room. They have pretty lifts btw..

and here we are on our way out again to try our luck once more!

Unfortunately the pool was still closed, and so we decided to explore the sky park. It cost $20 to non-hotel guests anyway.. So we should go see what all the hype is about. :P

see the clouds coming in? I was trying to capture that dash or orange in between the clouds and the horizon.. (:

prettyyy view of the flyer and the racetrack. (:

The skypark wasn't an overly spectacular view.. I feel that it's a waste of money for people to pay and look see.. Luckily, we saved that $20 coz we were hotel guests. How cool. :D

Next up we went to visit the Shoppes at Marina Bay.

This was a pretty 'fountain' in the middle of the mall. It collects rainwater from outside which would then drip into the pool. (:
