Happy Diwali!

Ahhh! I've wasted the past few hours away!! Will chop chop write this entry then go sleep :D. I got a lunch appointment at 2!

So Jit invited me over to her place for Deepavali. I got hopelessly lost getting there.. -.- I knew she stayed one bus stop after JJ, so I kind of had an idea how to get there. STUPID ME... Got off at the right bus stop.. But walked in the direction of JJ instead of the opposite way. Gahhh I kept walking and walking wondering why the building numbers were decreasing 550, 549, 548... When she stayed at 558! I even went up 548 looking for her unit!

HOW STUPID RIGHT?!?!

Merrr my feet really hurt by the time i reached her place.. I was so happy to remove my shoes!

I saw Nisa there! We haven't met up in like 7 years ZOMG. Was really happy to catch up tho, it felt just like old times! *smiles giddily* :D

Jit's place was packed btw.. She had relatives over, and her brother had his own big group of friends in addition to Jit's own big group lol. I caught up with Jit's 2 other band mates from Crescent - Lynn and Qiaolin. Never really talked to them before but... There's always a first for everything. (: They made the slightly uncomfortable situation (ie the BIG group of people that I did not know) much more bearable. (:

Blogshopping

I only discovered online shopping in August last year. It was like discovering a whole new world of shopping. You can do it anywhere anytime, as long as you have internet.. And the thrill of transferring the money, waiting and waiting for your parcel to arrive.. And when it finally does, you rip the packaging apart to look at your new present.. You try it on and twirl a few rounds around your house on an epic high..

If you can't tell.. I LOVE blogshopping. :D



Anywayy, it's been more than a year of blogshopping already ahaha and my wardrobe is filled with all these affordable and awesome (some not so awesome) clothes. :D

But it really sucks when I get clothes that don't fit, or materials that are rough, or colours that look different from the ones in the pictures..

The more i blogshopped, the greater this pile of clothes got.. And like.. it was like money sitting in one corner that you couldn't spend. And then I discovered these livejournal communities and forums that cater to the consumer to sell their 'second-hand' goods originally bought from the blogshops.

You just post the original photos from the blogshops and the price you are willing to sell it for, as well as the status (eg Brand New, Worn, etc). Alternatively, you can set up your own lj of all the items you wanna clear, and go around emailing other seller with items that you like, to see if they are interested in trades. (:

I was just looking at my junkietreasures email account, created in May specifically for these 2nd hand sales.. And I have 16 successful transactions WOOTS~~~ :D

(and I have another 16 items posted on my blog page still for sale =XXX) -blush-


Anyway, I'm glad I've managed to do something about all these purchases that have been cluttering up the house. :D It's like recreating value. You either get cash back for a fairly illiquid asset, or get another asset (ie dress) which you really really like in return!

Each time after I have settled myself into a comfortable position, she will want to change positions and I scramble to adjust given the time limit, and thus I am never ready when the shutter finally goes off -.-'' Still, the photo turned out pretty well tho.. 
I'm loving my new shoes from Mitju! (the stars around my shoes make them look very fanciful :D)

I think this one has got to be my favourite! It's so cool how we can squeeze like '6' people in the shot like that! Really liked what we did in this photo, even if it seems like there's a lot of things going on..

I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. 

Please allow me to analyse your situation as a professional investor. My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope everyone believes that I'm not wasting time here. 

From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain. Put the details aside, what you're trying to do is an exchange of "beauty" and "money": Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair and square. 

However, there's a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can't be prettier year after year. Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It's not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worried 10 years later. By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a "trading position". If the trade value dropped we will sell it and it is not a good idea to keep it for long term - same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or "leased". 

Anyone with over $500k annual income is not a fool; we would only date you, but will not marry you. I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. And by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with $500k annual income. This has better chance than finding a rich fool.

Mum's bday celebration (31 Oct)

We celebrated mum's bday today. (: Her birthday is actually on the 1st of Nov, but it's easier to get the whole family down on a weekend, so we decided on dinner today. (:

At mum's recommendation, we went to this restaurant called District 10 located in the Newton Area just off Bukit Timah Road. Nothing much to blog about. Mostly will let the pictures do the talking! (:

The salads: District 10 salad and the Duck and Mango salad. I'm not much of a fan of salad, but i loved the Duck and Mango one.. They had lychee and grapes in it yums. :D

Gourmet beer battered fish and chips--> totally overrated. Don't waste your money. The fish didn't have the nice fried texture you get in fish and chips, and it was too chunky.

Roasted Baby Back Ribs with Smoky Barbeque Sauce--> Not bad. My parents loveeeeed it! I thought it was quite normal tho. The sauce was nice and the ribs tender, not too overdone. (:

Roasted Pork Belly! One of my favourite foods to eat from anywhere, the fatty parts are just so succulent and tasty! This one was a bit salty, but i liked it that way! (:

One of the sides: Deep Fried Calamari and Tiger Prawns. DON'T TRY THIS OKAY THE CALAMARI TASTES LIKE RUBBER. >.< 
Prawns still not bad..  but not worth enduring the calamari for it.


Pizzas: Black Pig Pizza and Florentia Truffle Pizza
Pizzas on the whole were GOOOOOOD! :D The Black Pig one gave large chunks of mozzarella (which happen to be one of my favs! :D) and the truffle one... well.. it's hard to go wrong with truffle. :P


The desserts!

Panacota with coconut cubes. 
They actually don't serve panacota on its own, but served with an apple tart. Unfortunately they ran out of apple tarts so they customised this dish for me! heehee i love pana cota and this one wasn't too bad, but Modestos' ones are so much better! :D

Chocolate Godzilla Platter

This came with Profiteroles, Brownie, Brule and Gelato. What is a Profiterole you say?? (yeah duh the whole table was puzzled too zzz) Turns out it is some homemade puff with vanilla ice cream in it. I though this was a waste of money. I mean it's chocolate, chocolate, and chocolate. Very gelat.. >.<

I forgot what exactly this was supposed to be. there was a cookie, like one side of an oreo, it tasted nice with the ice cream lol. There was an ice cream cake and some other random stuff.. Another waste of money sigh.
